Everyman

Back in June the Everyman Cinema opened in the redeveloped Bell Court in Stratford.  Today was the first day we've been to a film there.  The worry that the new cinema may put the established Picture House out of business has not materialised and we still frequent the place, especially with Silver Screen on Friday and Tuesday afternoon, something the Everyman doesn't offer.  Unfortunately, the film we wanted to see was only on at the multiplex, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.  An excellent film and the sofa seating was novel, to us, and very comfortable with plenty of legroom, Ann soon kicked off her shoes and made herself at home.

We walked into Stratford again, getting acclimated to the Arctic weather, and had a coffee at Nero before lunch at Bella Italia, which unusually was empty.  After the film Ann began the walk home and I waited for the bus.  Before long it was obvious the bus was not going to appear, in fact most busses appeared to be at a standstill, not surprisingly.  There were no signs of taxis at the usual stop so I started walking in the blizzard; as I passed the station I noticed a waiting cab so jumped in for a ride home (I had the house key and my phone had packed up so couldn't let Ann, who was in the front porch, know what was going on).
