Commute
An appointment today, gave me the opportunity for a trip to London and a snowy commute. Thanks to the Beast from the East, about half the trains were cancelled and the remainder delayed, so I allowed loads of spare time. Rather than have to kill that time on arrival, as things were going reasonably well I left the tube at Embankment and walked the rest of the way to Victoria. It was cold and windy, but nevertheless no shortage of tourists around Westminster. The Palace's Elizabeth Tower is now fully enshrined in scaffolding whilst it is undergoing its restoration (here's my entry from 13th December last year) but still a selfie destination of choice it seems.
Not content with that, on the return from the station I took a further walk along some of the more picturesque paths and across fields towards home. We'd been here the day before with sledges and children, but today in the twilight of an early winter evening, the solitary silence was quite stark.
It was a good FitBit day. 13,500 steps...
