Sad day

Today we said goodbye to this lovely chap. He was hit by a car just before Christmas and sadly died as a result. It is hard to believe, it wasn't his time surely, tragic.

David played a big part in teaching me to ring, he was encouraging, patient and welcoming when I turned up to ring at his practice or for Sunday service. The world is a poorer place without him.

The service was lovely, we sang the bell ringers hymn (see extra) and I also got to ring the bells several times. There were lots of local ringers there and, considering the awful weather, the church was full, I hope that gave some comfort to is wife and family.
