Leave my worm alone!
One godwit trying to take a worm from another godwit. They will be feeding like mad now trying to double their weight before they leave for Siberia any time in the next 2-3 weeks. Even their internal organs like kidneys and liver shrink to fit in more fat, without losing optimal flying weight. Their migration is the longest non stop migration of any bird. For some reason they are leaving earlier now, with some people thinking this is because their food sources in the Northern Hemisphere are disappearing, and if they leave early more food is available perhaps.
