Storm Emma.
So the snow has arrived along with the wind! Lovely! Storm Emma and the Beast from The East have collided and the whole country has gone into panic mode! Our area is on Red alert the highest weather warning you can get. Advice now in or area is do not drive at all! I will not be! Having said that we only have probably a few inches but with the wind chill factor and drifting it has caused chaos in most of the country. Let’s be honest, we really don’t do snow.
As a result of the impending bad weather we brought in the 7 horses this morning. Of course we have no running water outside at all so we have brought the old milk churns into use again and we are filling them up in my back kitchen with a very interesting device as seen in the picture above set up by Mr Tbay Jnr! An interesting but effective little set up.
An afternoon spent in front of the fire watching the news.
Farming - Rusty and Joshy out hauling compost as usual. As is always the case farms never shut down and go home early they simply have to deal with all the horrible conditions the storm throws at them. So glad I am not having to haul water everywhere or de frost pipes all over the place !
The South West Area YFC Weekend at Weston-super-Mare is under serious threat, the Junior Public Speaking Competitions have all been postponed as well as all the sporting events. I have a feeling that the whole event will be a no goer.
It will be interesting to see what the night brings!
