Welcome home!

Having been out of the country since 10th December, I think it is time to restart blip!
Due to the snow there is very little in the garden apart from a few camelias which are frosted, and a lone daffodil! However, this orchid seems to have thrived on neglect and is in full flower which was a nice welcome!
We were due to have a 10 day holiday in Thailand on the way to New Zealand and then to stay with our daughter and son in law and 3 year old and new baby grandson. We were going to come home at the end of January but I had already extended my stay until 9th February. However, the baby had tongue and lip tie and awful feeding and sleeping issues and the 3 year old was ill all the time with tonsillitis and sleep apnoea. Our daughter was up all night between both of them. The 3 year old  was having his tonsils and adenoids out a week after I was due to leave. As time drew closer I realised that I couldn't leave. In the event it was good that I stayed as our 3 year old grandson had complcations from the surgery and had to stay in hospital on  oxygen and a drip for 4 days so I was looking after the baby. When he came home, the 3 year old was still waking in the night, in pain despite medication, so I looked after him for 2 nights then swapped with my daughter and had the baby at night.  On top of that our daughter had dreadful toothache and had to have a root canal filling. When I left it was clear that she could just about see the light at the end of the tunnel but I was so gad I hadn't left any sooner. Needless to say, on the 16 hour 40 min flight from Auckland to Dubai, I slept for 8 hours!!!
