The Arts Society

This morning we attended our first meeting of The Arts Society of the Marina Alta ( we live in the Marina Baixa), and thoroughly enjoyed an illustrated talk about Islamic Art and architecture in Granada, Cordoba and Seville.
The guest speaker had flown from the UK (just getting out ahead of the snow). Anne Haworth is a lecturer at the V&A Museum in London, and has also given talks at the Royal Academy .......so it was a real treat to have such an expert speaker.
Most of us in the audience have already been to these historic cities in Andalusia, so it was lovely to “re-visit” them in the company of an expert, who also managed to include some extras about our local Valencian porcelain.
