Winter wonderland

Weather still quite severe in and around Edinburgh ...

... we did manage a walk from Shandon to our Saughton Allotment (and back) this afternoon - and, as the main snap shows, everything was looking quite magical in a brief spell of sunshine ;-)

But, as the two extras show, the conditions were generally far more bleak:

- 1st extra shows a couple of folk actually skiing along the Union Canal towpath!
- 2nd extra shows that a fairly large section of the (flowing) Water of Leith was quite frozen!

Not sure I've seen either of these phenomenon before, in the whole 25-years we've lived in Edinburgh?
