Wrong Time!

I was covering Colourful Mai's hen duty this morning - so imagine my surprise when I saw the hens running up to the fence to greet me! Checking her message it was the close I was covering! But at least I saw the red light flashing on the battery so it gave me time to charge the other one for the next day! Since I was well wrapped up and it was another gloriously sunny day, I dug up lots of huge clumps of grass in some of my beds. They have been annoying me for a couple of years but there was always something else to do. I seem to be getting on top of the jobs for the first time in 3 years! Such a good feeling! After 2 hours the cold began to get to me - as did the tiredness!
After a shower, some yoga and something to eat I headed to Tavistock as Gunther had eaten all his locusts and the cats needed more cat litter! I bought some non gluten bread and fruit and veg! Stayed away from the tempting fresh cream cakes and bought goats milk and butter! Finally, home the even more scenic route where I caught these wonderful tree shapes and the cloud. I'm really hoping we get snow in the next day or so - surely this year we should get some!
Back to the allotment and I wrapped the watering cans, and water feeder in carpet, and the one that clips onto the run I covered with a plastic bag then heaped straw all around and over it. Hopefully this will mean they won't freeze! Home to another fire and some warming food before going to bed and dreaming of snow!
