Barrioboy on The Nile
Our 14 hour sleeper train ride from Cairo to Aswan was a bit of an adventure but we got more sleep that we thought at first we might. It was worth it for the views from the train from 6.00 till 10.00am this morning and I moved easily from snapping from Cairo taxis to Egyptian trains! We're in a hotel on Elephantine Island and after lunch, exploring the hotel a bit and laying by the pool for an hour we decided to get 'on the water' for sunset. I'm not a natural sailor (ok, all I had to do was sit back!) but it was a lovely hour sailing round the island with Mohammed and his young mate Ahmed. We got off on the Corniche, had a wander round the very local souk, resisting all the 'lookie looks' and one guy's 'just have a shiftie'! Difficult to choose pics today, but I couldn't resist Barrioboy looking quite at home on the felucca. The extras are views from the train this morning and a few more from the felucca sail.
