Bertie the bittern

Not quite as much snow as forecast here so late this afternoon I headed out to Far Ings. It was bitterly cold so didn't stay long, but long enough for the bittern to make an appearance. This is the first time I have seen him out in the open (apart from in flight) and so was quite chuffed. by the time i had come of Tesco's with a couple of items it was snowing hard again but only lasted about an hour or so.
