Through the hole in the wall
Quite possibly the slowest building job in Cumbria was finished over the weekend. Or so our builder thought....
Having put in a land drain and some retaining walls its taken months for the fabricator to get round to supplying the gate that theoretically finishes the work. We've been super laid back about it, and we only gave him two very specific criteria for the gate. He managed to remember one of them.... so now he'll need to put his thinking cap on and come up with a alteration or make a new gate. I have had to laugh, as when he came to fit it and I questioned the lack of any way to lock it he showed me his little note book. In which it said "must lock". Oops.
But we do now have an access on to the public right of way that goes through the wood behind us and across the fields towards both Church Beck and Raisbeck. I think it blew Pushka's mind a little, she seemed genuinely confused, but as ever was very happy to be out in the snow.
We've had about 3 inches - but just a couple of miles away the Howgills look to have hardly had a dusting.
