Hippeastrum

I blipped this Hippeastrum (generally known as Amaryllis) on 17 January when it was a couple of centimetres high.  It is now 54 cm and in full flower.  As I said at the time it must be at least 36 years old as it belonged to my Mum before Dad died and came to us when she moved in with us.

Having no other inspiration for the day I decided a macro of the stamens would be an interesting shot so there they are.
