Alnmouth
We spent a couple of hours in Alnmouth before getting the train home. We managed to discover that the river is called the Aln with an L and not the An as it could have been either. It was pretty busy even though it was very bracing.
Across the water there was a mound with a cross on the top and I wondered what it was. Turns out it used to be the site of the church but in the early 1800's, the river changed its course and cut it off from the village!
