Heady Days
Another cold but sunny day and we decided to have Sunday lunch in our local pub and another visit to the cinema.
Today is was Lady Bird, a film with strong performances.
Really enjoyed it.
Not showing at our nearest complex so we travelled a bit further and went to the Hyde Park Cinema in Leeds, mostly staffed by volunteers to keep this old cinema going.
As it’s in the student area of the city it has a ready audience and shows a wide range of films that are often less commercially viable than some of the latest blockbusters.
Just from the trailers we have made a mental note of future visits.
It still has an old feel to it and as there was just a still on the screen before the entertainment began l took a quick photograph.
Was pleased to see the still was advertising a future film about Hedy Lamarr, an actress many critics considered the most beautiful face to adorn the screen in those heady Hollywood days.
Thought the whole thing suited mono very well.
