Poppy Project

Knitted and crocheted poppies seem to be all the rage in the past few years. Somebody in Stokesley came up with the idea of getting people to knit poppies which will be strewn from trees near the war memorial during the poppy appeal this year. It seems like a good idea to commemorate the centenary of the end of the first world war.

I have made a start on my first poppy. Considering I haven't knitted anything since I took up photography over 30 years ago I'm not sure how many poppies I will manage. They are hoping that 4500 will be made by the beginning of October.
