Men in Tights
is the intriguing title of the latest production to come from Aylesbury Choral Society. John is normally in the bass line-up of the chorus but tonight featured as one of the 'men in tights'. The panto was written and directed by one of the choir members and this motley crew put through their paces as a fund raising effort; I hope it's made a goodly profit for them. The rough plot, bearing in mind is was pantomime, was based around Robin Hood and Maid Marion. It was very enjoyable. Blip shows a few of the knobbly knees (John's are on the left) and an extra showing him as the hippy he was potraying. I took my camera with a long zoom lens and lurked at the back. Light was ridiculously bad and white balance all over the place as it was in a village community hall.
At this sort of ACS event I usually meet up with another choir supporter with whom I did Jury service many years ago. As a jury we got on very well and had an enjoyable couple of weeks - bearing in mind we were dealing with serious issues; it was lovely to catch up with Sue again.
The next performance from the Choral Society will be Bach's 'St Matthew Passion' - a complete cultural contrast to tonight's performance!
