WG Dowsley
This is a painted miniature of my wife's grandfather.
I have been asked by a family member for a copy so I am also using it today.
William George Dowsley (1871 - 1947) was born in Clonmel, Ireland, studied in Dublin, and ordained in 1901.
From 1904 he was the chaplain at St Andrew's College, Grahamstown, South Africa.
He was an author with an amazingly diverse portfolio of work.
This included two Irish novels, Travelling Men and Long Horns,
several books on agricultural subjects such as ostrich feeding, bookkeeping, plus church accounts, and co-authoring a book in Xhosa
