Lazy Saturday

The forecast for today had been for rain. I’d left any shopping for when it was wet. It dawned clear and sparkly, but I’d been tipped off about some adorable bargains in The Forum, so I combined a curtailed shopping trip with a stroll along the coastal path overlooking Praya Formosa (hence my blip).

I called back in the hotel to drop off my purchases, and it was still lovely.

I’ve spent a super quiet afternoon in the Old Town (following the fortunes of Forest on my phone - big smile !!!!)

On Saturdays, the youngsters of Funchal get involved with Scouts and other activities. One of my extras is a naughty lad, being a touch disrespectful to a statue.

Watching the sailboarding from my little bar, I noticed one of the kids was miles away from the other youngsters. I asked the waiter if he’d be ok, the reply with a knowing smile was that he was having fun. Fearless, healthy, happy and mischievous kids, enjoying their lovely island.
