An ordinary life....

It's not easy being a girl...

Lola wasn't meant to be my blip today as I got some lovely shots of Alan and his pal Andrew this evening, but my MacBook Pro has decided to fall out with my SD card and is refusing to acknowledge it.  Grrrrr.

That aside, it's been a busy but lovely day.

I was supposed to get up at 6.15am but forgot to set my alarm.  David woke me at 7.00am thank goodness!  Thomaz and Tony from the building company we used for the extension arrived at 8am to sort some stone slabs in the garden and one of the Narnia garden lights that the wind had blown over (not work they had done, this is additional).  It was funny to see their van in the driveway again.

I popped round to see the nurse to have a follow-up blood test as the result of the last one showed increased glucose levels in my blood.  Not good.  I sense a whole lifestyle change about to take place.

William from the pool company popped in around 10am to have a look at the PH probe.  The automatic reading is saying the water PH is wrong but when David checks it manually with the PH paper it's spot on.  Turns out we need a new probe, which is a relief as we had visions of the pool being out of use for a while till the levels were correct.  Don't fancy being the one breaking that news to Alan!

David went to pick Alan's pal Andrew up at midday.  Alan was pleased to see him.  After lunch Ally got them bundled into the car and went out for a while.  They stopped at the chemist to get Alan cream for his coldsore (he inherited the virus from me, poor lad) then the barber to get Alan's hair cut then after discussion they decided they wanted to go to the coffee shop at Dobbies in Stirling.  They returned full of they joys.

Lola continues to be a bit clingy and listless although her appetite picked up a bit today.  She's still lively on her walks (managed to find the only muddy puddle in the woods and have a jump in it as well as some fox poo to roll in!) and was running about the house with Andrew going a bit nuts and generally being her usual self so confused now as to where her season is starting or not.  Will just carry on keeping a close eye on her.

David's just left to take Andrew home.  That lad pulls my heart strings.  Before he left he said to me "Thank you for having me, I am always happy when I'm here."  I told him I was delighted to hear it as it wouldn't be good if he came here and had a miserable time, and he replied with "I don't know what I'd do without you and David."  What do you say to that?  He's a wee sweetheart.  I gave his arm a squeeze and made him laugh by saying "you're only saying that because I make the best French toast"

We've arranged for him to come back again in three weeks time and he was keen to get the date in his phone calendar so he has "something to look forward to."   Cue another lump in my throat.
