Chinese New Year

Which was on Friday 16th of February and falls between Jan 21st and Feb 20th, it takes place on a different date each year because it is based on the lunar calendar. Celebrations last for over two weeks. This year is the Year of the Dog.
These lantern decorations are in the trees in Liverpool city centre. The city has a large, long established Chinese community; Liverpool Chinatown was the first to be established in Europe.
