Inscrutable cats.

I love cats. Tiger is now 16 years old. He, of all the cats we have had as pets, is such a character. Today he decided to commandeer our Times newspaper to sit on. Maybe he was showing solidarity with the striking lecturers of our Universities, Or maybe the opposite!.  I will never understand why cats love paper so much. It never mattered where we put it down, sooner or later all of our  previous cats would sit on it. 
   All except the one we had called Rigsby. For some unaccountable reason he would take a flying leap at paper on the floor and then proceed to shred it! 
We discovered that each of our cats loved it when we stood an old daily newspaper on the floor opened out like an open ended tent. They would then run through it, sometimes in the process ending up carrying the paper on their backs as they ran around! I have a video of one of them actually in transit! 
I am now in possession of The Times once more and Tiger, well, he's once again fast asleep. Zzzzzz
