Fridays shopping trip

to North Shields ended up searching for the Sailors home.
In yesterday's local paper this article appeared.
Very interesting as I knew nothing about it.

I did know that the building next door was supposedly the summer residence of the Duke of Northumberland.That later became the Northumberland Arms Public house.

It was visited by Seamen from all over the World who nicknamed it The Jungle. The building on New Quay is right opposite the Ferry landing and is now Luxury flats.
