Mental Arithmetic

My Dear Fellows & Dear Princess,

It's NZ census time. It was sort of nice, filling it in. Almost like a "proper" Kiwi.

But I'm not, not really. I find I still divide everything by two to try and figure out how much things REALLY cost. And I'm constantly adding 6 months to the date to try and understand what the season should be. And it goes without saying that I can subtract 11, 12 or 13 hours from the time without even having to think about it.

Over time, I suppose I will stop doing these things. February will be summer and not winter and milk will cost $2.50 and not £1.25*. My night-time will stop being your daytime and I'll stop wondering what you're having for tea and whether you're having a decent day at work.

But for now, I'm still in maths limbo. Pass the calculator.

S.

* HOW MUCH?!? I know, right?
