Doi Tung Royal Villa

This is the house of HRH the late Princess Mother of Thailand. Doi Tung is a 1,300 meter-high mountain of northern Thailand at the border of Myanmar. King Rama IX's mother used to come here to rehabilitate the hill tribe communities. She had this villa built in a style mixing a Swiss chalet and the Lanna style. As it is at about 1,000-meters high, the temperature is cooler and allows many kinds of flowers to grow, as well as tea and coffee.
So, she had also planned for a huge flower garden that has now become a major attraction (see additional blip).
