The family came over for lunch today. After a lovely meal we walked up to the walled garden and on down through the village of Grappenhall. As we approached the church the bells began to ring. It is a very traditional little village complete with church, cricket ground and two pubs almost next door to each other.

Just below the window on the other side of the tower a cat is carved into the stone. It is said to be the original Cheshire Cat.
