Thank you for the many kind and thoughtful comments. They've helped and I'm deeply grateful.

It was good to be at work today. My colleagues were kind and I got some good work done. Home feels quiet and empty. The scratching post and the circle thing with the ball in the track are still in the lounge but everything else is either washed, being washed, or in storage.

A good friend said to me today that I gave Benedict the love he missed out on as a kitten. "What a wonderful change in his short life to have you there - you gave him a life free from hunger and fear and taught him about cuddles and company".

I take great comfort from that. We're all transformed by love.
