Devastation at Covehithe

Our first walk of the year at Covehithe shows the amount of coastal erosion suffered over the winter.   Lots of trees lay on the beach and Benacre Mere has been breached (see extra) and was empty, but the tide was coming in and we couldn't cross it so had to abandon our circular walk.    Instead we went down the coast to Dunwich Heath where we saw two herds of deer but it had started raining by then and the light was failing so, unfortunately, we were unable to take any photographs of them.
