Blue Skies
This was our view from the bus stop as we waited for our very fancy new no 62 Borders’ Bus to take us toadstool hunting in Peebles this morning. That sounds so much more acceptable than saying that we felt it was time to tackle a cranberry and walnut scone from Coltman’s there.
Any way we did both, eat the scone and find a toadstool to add to our wooden fungi collection on the window sill. extra image
To think we downsized 8 years ago recycling all extraneous belongings just to collect things again. I imagine we felt somehow that we were at the stage of our lives when we wouldn’t see anything to collect, or have the space to indulge, but how wrong were we.
It is always a struggle for us and me in particular not to acquire objects for which we have no real need but which give us pleasure, just like a pair of magpies filling the nest with glittery objects.
Peebles was looking rather lovely under an unbroken blue sky, warm sunshine and blessedly quieter than usual with fewer day trippers.
It was a lovely day away from the big smoke.
