An emergency trip out to St John's Livingston when it was discovered by the Out of Hours clinic that elder son's unusually sore throat was quinsy.

Thank goodness the tv remote in the day room was working and i could change channel from the X Files and find this - Duncan Chisholm playing beautifully.

And thank goodness the SNHS is there, working efficiently and kindly in our case, in spite of the pressures last night at least.

We all need to hope a solution to the looming antibiotics crisis is found soon, though.
