Blue Tuesday

Posting this the day after (20.02.2018)  his beloved MCFC lost to Wigan in the Cup but he did congratulate them, if only because he was enthralled in the Scots about to win TeamGB Platinum in Winter Olympics curling.

Also, yesterday leaders of 10 biggest UK cities outside London went to Brussels to try and see if they could retain some of their EU links as they are being "ignored" by Westminster in the Brexit process. Seven out of ten cities including Manchester voted "Remain" and the other three it was a very close run.

Nigel while being an immigrant living in Kent the past 40 odd years, has always stuck to upholding his beloved birthplace Manchester and is still a regular visitor and Bliper of the city.

Here back in 1990, I had "the last supper" with Nigel & his wife on September 3rd in Munich before taking them the following day to the airport and flight home to the UK. It was the end of an era of the two of us working together but it didn't end a friendship which is as strong in 2018 as ever.

A few days after his return, he sent me this card taken from his stockpile in Kent. He doesn't do Chatham Dockyard postcards. The stamp he refers to is the "George Cross". Perhaps an order due to Manchester's neighbours Wigan.

As was quoted in the article today about the UK city leaders meeting in Brussels:

“Manchester has got more in common with Munich, probably, than it has with MansfieldMaidstone,”
