“Speakeasy”

No Lent word today, so I can post a random picture. The day started in a relaxed manner with a delicious brunch around noon at Denver’s “First Watch” Farm to Fork Breakfast and Lunch Restaurant. Then a trip to the airport to refuel the plane because we were planning to leave early tomorrow morning for our flight back to DFW. A relaxing afternoon at our hotel while Josiah caught up on some work, then my wonderful late Christmas present from Josiah began. First he dressed up to take me out on a date to a “Speakeasy” bar, dating back to the Prohibition Era, which was a fun experience! Very atmospheric, with the door to the underground bar disguised as a bookshelf of what was ostensibly a bookstore. The bar itself was very dark and mysterious, which all added to the experience. I had a superb gin based cocktail called “Rocky Mountain Experience”, with herbs in it. Then we walked back in the warm sunshine to Jo’s flat, where he cooked some Salmon and his signature roasted Brussels Sprouts dish. We invited David to join us for dinner. All in all a wonderful evening! Then as we walked back to our hotel at about 8 pm, the weather had very noticeably changed and it was freezing cold! Snow is predicted for tomorrow, so we won’t be able to leave till Tuesday now. Such is the downside of flying small planes.
