Dead head...

It started life as a flower on October 11th reached its prime around here on October 15th and this morning despite being challenged by rain, a frost, and some blustery winds since birth it's still hanging on! This close up shot of the remaining poppy still has the ability to please (me) and I offer it as what's there if you look hard enough. Never take things at face value, look beneath the surface and be surprised - or disappointed. Gawd that sounds pompous but you know what I mean.
