Weather Delays
This is Rockies Girl reporting from the McIntosh Lake Arena here at the 2018 Alternative Olympic Games. In an unfortunate turn of events, the Ice Dancing competition scheduled today had to be postponed and may possibly have to be cancelled. A warm wind has been howling for 3 days and every bit of ice has melted! If the forecast is correct, however, it may be possible to reschedule for Tuesday. Stay tuned for updates.
What was bad news for the skaters was good for the burrowers. The conditions were perfect to reschedule the Speed Burrowing Relay that was postponed last week due to snow. Here you see Preston of Team Prairie Dog cheering on his teammate as he waits to be tagged so he can start his burrow. The PDs went on to win the Gold Medal!
Team Bald Eagle was supposed to be practicing for the Swoop and Glide event but it seemed they were just having fun riding the wind currents. Unfortunately, they were too far away for this reporter’s lens. So that wraps it up from here today. Thanks for tuning in!
I am grateful that I finally got outside with my camera today! The wind was terrible but I managed to stay out for about half an hour. We’ll see what tomorrow brings…
