The Mount Vineyard

It's been a lovely sunny day and we had our first long rural walk from home in 2018.

We left home at 10. 30. and walked through the fields and woods to the vineyard in Shoreham (kent). Unfortunately we encountered a lot of mud and I have an aversion to sliding through this slimy clay. However, it was an enjoyable walk and we arrived at the vineyard with muddy boots in time for lunch. They are now providing more cold food choices and also delicious looking wood fired pizzas . We had a bottle of their Flint Key and shared an English cheese platter. The sun shone and there was a holiday atmosphere.

The walk back was quite exhausting as we made a detour along the river Darent and onwards and upwards through the muddy woods. If only there was less hill climbing.

Have to make the most of this Springlike weather as who knows what tomorrow will bring.
