Bike trail

We went over the Rimutakas to visit with our friends the Greys today. After lunch, we went for a walk along a newly opened bike trail. This follows the route of a short-lived secondary line between the main trunk line through to Masterton and Greytown (yes, it is a coincidence our friends have a weekend cottage in a town with their name in it).

As part of the development of bike trails throughout NZ, the path of the railway line is now a relatively short bike trail, which connects via a secondary road to the railway station at Woodside.

This shot was taken on our way back, looking at the oaks planted along the side of the railway many years ago.
