Proxy candle blower

Two weeks ago, S' mother decided that she wanted to have a party for her birthday. She asked S and brother P to organise it. S' cousin and his wife offered their home as the place for the gathering to cope with the numbers, and the possibility of needing to be inside (in the event of foul weather, which fortunately did not transpire).

S and her brothers were here. All but two grandchildren were able to attend; Tsuken in the Blue Mountains, and P's eldest (in London) were the absentees. Tsuken's two were the only great grandchildren not here.

Daughter C made and decorated the cake, reflecting her interpretation of the use of colour and shape of the artist. Unfortunately, when it came time for the cake, the 98 years had caught up with her, and the guest of honour was resting and felt that she would not be able to rejoin us all. She asked us to sing happy birthday very loudly, and have someone blow out the candles for her. Apart from young Casey (not yet 2 years old), young L is the youngest great grandchild, and he did the honours.

The extra was taken on an early morning run, when I had hoped for a sunrise as dramatic as last night's sunset. This is as good as it got. Maybe that's why there was no rain today.
