Roots
Today started clear and sunny so out came the mx5 (which Sarah has taken to calling "Button"). We drove to a cafe in Hopkinton near the start of the Boston Marathon and had an enjoyable lunch. Even with the temperature hovering a few degrees above freezing it was great to drive with the roof down.
On the way back we stopped at Breakneck Hill farm for a walk. The conservation land used to be an old orchard before being used as pasture for cows. Two years ago the cows had to go as the State decided that ground nesting birds were the priority. It is a shame as there are very few farms left in this part of New England.
The photo shows the roots from a fallen tree in the orchard. Tonight winter is back and it is snowing again.
