The Brattle Book Shop

Just around the corner from us you can find the Brattle Book Shop -- one of America's oldest and largest antiquarian book dealers.  It's a fascinating place for any bibliophile to explore, with three stories of over 250,000 books, maps, prints, postcards and ephemeral items in all subjects. In addition to its general used and out-of-print stock, The Brattle Book Shop also maintains an inventory of first editions, collectibles and fine leather bindings in its rare book room.  Outside can be found the bargain book stacks, where you can purchase a good read for as little as $3.00! 

Here is a collage, showing the building itself, the wonderful book sign complete with quill and ink pot, the bright yellow pencil over the front door (I'm not sure if the eraser end met with some sort of mishap, or whether it's supposed to look as if someone chewed thoughtfully on it), and the charming mural of famous authors on the wall above the bargain book yard.
