Life from city to village

Temple Newsam

Today was the big birthday official celebration; I booked for my friends, family & I to have a costume tour around Temple Newsam House, and then afternoon tea in the Still Room, where they would make the various potions, soaps and polishes needed in the house.  We had a fabulous time, the staff were completely brilliant. It was laid back, the tour was great, a 'Horrible Histories' type tour, and the food was not the most elegant but was really tasty.

My project for today, from "Why Photographers Prefer Cloudy Days" by Haje Jan Kamps, was selective colour. He had suggested a phone picture and then using an app for the purpose, but I had treated myself to Photoshop Elements for my birthday, so its taken on my G16 (forgot to take the SLR! I was in such a hurry to get everything organised), and then the colour amended using selection tool in Photoshop. I love the effect.

This is the Grand Hall, and the current reception area for the house.
