Art

We went to see an interesting play last night in the art centre in town. It was a story about little known Hebridean suffragettes. While I was there I visited the current art exhibition which is about things made from rubbish washed up on the shore. Not normally my sort of thing but this exhibit caught my eye. They are made from washed up nylon rope, woven into small ‘quivers’ about 16 inches long and fashioned in the style of the baskets that women used to have tied around their waist to hold their knitting needles when they needed to have their hands free.
