Bushkill Falls
We were orienteering at Egypt's Mill today in the Long Event of the North American Orienteering Championships. I think we all enjoyed the forest much more than yesterday's fight through undergrowth. It was much more open today although we all still encountered some nasty thorn bushes. The courses were technical and you had to concentrate to stay in touch with the map. Tony was 7th on his course when we left and I was 4th.
Afterwards we drove a short distance down the valley to the Bushkill Falls which are advertised as 'The Niagara Falls of Pennsylvania'. There are eight falls altogether with a range of trails. The river drops through two narrow gorges with boardwalks and viewing platforms. This is the Bridesmaid Fall on the western, less dramatic gorge but I decided to upload this rather than the main falls because it is prettier and in a lovely setting.
Sprint day tomorrow then it's back to Becky and Rob's in Newhaven!
More photos of the Falls.
