Rio from Sugarloaf

Bread of Sugar is the direct translation of Sugarloaf. Quite impressive views. I love how the city winds its way up through the mountain valleys. I remember my mother refusing to go up there when I was 10, and later today we saw the old cable cars that only changed to the current "new ones" the year after we were there...can't say I blame her! That is Copacabana Beach on the far left and just beyond that outcrop of city is Ipanema. We spent the afternoon on Copacabana where the water is saltier and green and one step too far has an undertow that drags you straight out! The Ipanema side is turquoise water with stronger waves and a sideways current. Regardless if which beach we manage to have acai every time! Acai is a purple berry that grows in the jungle and is one of the healthiest things you can put in your body. They freeze it and blend it making a wonderful cool snack. This has got to be one of the most beautifully set cities in the world.
