Perspective

There wasn’t much time for putting feet up at Foodbank today. Another hectic session holding a space for people’s hunger, anger, sadness, distress and anxiety. Tears and laughter, songs and lament, stories and tragedies.
In the midst of this I held and was held by the lovely Olivia, 8 months old and caring for a single father. As we walked around meeting everyone, eating lunch, dribbling together, I was reminded of the words I heard from Nadia Bolz Weber “I believe absolutely that babies are God’s gift for the healing of the nations.” Hearts melted.
