Chinese New Year Celebrations
We had a very fab day today learning about, and celebrating, Chinese New Year.
The school was decorated inside and out with lanterns, small (blip) and large, and dragons were made. The extra was called ‘Dragony’ and was decorated by Reception - she was lovely for the 10 minutes she stood up to being played with!!!
The children made lots of crafts, ate their chinese inspired lunch with chopsticks and had extra pudding of Fortune Cookies (extra). We tried different foods, made lucky money packets which had a lucky coin in, acted and danced.
The whole school even strung oranges, put wishes inside them and threw them into our garden trees to see whose would hang and whose would fall, for the wishes to have a chance of coming true. The Dopski managed to get hers in the tree, she was soooo chuffed!
An excellent fun, but exhausting day :)
