Jim and Snowball
At the age of four the Current Mrs Creel was on a Hoy beach with Snowball, her teddy (not pictured). Her brother persuaded her that if they buried her teddy, as the tide came in, then it would be there the morn. The morn came and what a disaster. Snowball could still be in the Flow or somewhere off Spitsbergen.
The Current Mrs Creel can clearly remember as a peedie bairn walking one mile (unaccompanied) to the Hoy Post Office to collect her new Teddy (pictured). The whole of Hoy kent it had arrived.
On the left is ‘Jim’ a more recent incarnation made by our dear friend Phyllis in Stromness.
As for Snowball - well it still hurts as she often reminds her brother.
