Sun, Sea, and Snowdrops.
We decided to leave the weekly shopping until tomorrow, and make the most of the glorious sunshine.
Burton Agnes Hall, near Driffield, is a place we haven't visited for many years, and I had read about their snowdrop walk.
We weren't disappointed!
Through the woods a carpet of beautiful white flowers, nodding their heads in the breeze. ( which was cold!)
A fabulous sight. My photos don't do them justice.
I have put a collage in extras too, showing the house, and some of the sculptures which were dotted along the walk.
We had planned to have lunch in the cafe, but as it is half term, it was very busy.
So MrC had the great idea of going to Bridlington for fish and chips.
He said we couldn't come all this way and not see the sea.
We parked by the harbour. Sun still shining, although that cool breeze.
Saw a fish and chip shop near by, and decided to eat them outside overlooking the sea. It was a sunny sheltered spot, and F & C's always taste better eaten out side.
Senior Citizens Special.
Fish and chips, and a mug of tea for £4.70. Excellent value, and delicious food.
Then a walk along the sand. Lots of little turnstones, and sanderlings scuttling along the beach, running in and out of the sea.
Finished with a walk around the harbour.
I have put another collage of Bridlington on extras.
Best day out of the year so far!
