Gardenstown Baby

Had a great day at Aden Country Park in Mintlaw today. Third time lucky.. we planned to go there on Monday and yesterday, but the weather had other plans. I did get some nice photos, but preferred this one when we got back. Me and Erin walked up to the 1000 year old church on the seacliffs, built from the proceeds when the women of Gardenstown trundled rocks onto the Vikings, killing them and raiding their gold while the men were off fishing (or perhaps chatting on a street corner?). Great example of sisters doing it for themselves and instead of getting raped and pillaged they ambushed the bastards and built a town from the proceeds!! Thanks girls .. I enjoyed the holiday a little bit more knowing the origins of this place.
