Muttrah souq

Today was a real trip down nostalgia lane.
It started with the wonderful Muttrah souq where the kids bought a couple of tacky souvenirs! We then treat all the kids to what turned out to be huge ice creams with flower shaped ice cream on the top.
We admired the Sultan’s twin cruise liners in the dock before moving onto his palace. The kids have been asking me to take photos constantly so that they can share their experience with their classmates!
Then it was onto the marina for lunch before we took our kids to Muscat Private hospital so they could see where I had all my pregnancy check ups for Olivia and where Dex was born. What memories!

The rest of the afternoon was an art and craft afternoon for the kids (well Hayley is an art teacher), while we prepared a Valentine meal for the kids. Olivia had already taken us all on a Valentine’s treasure hunt which she’d been working on since we arrived. The kids all received a single rose, we blew up heart shaped balloons, set the table and lit candles. The grown ups waited on the kids which was fun and dessert was Belgian waffles with melted Belgian chocolate (that we’d taken out for a little treat from our home).

They were then allowed another short cartoon outside on the big screen. After bed it was time for the grown ups to have their Valentine’s meal and dessert. Perhaps not the most romantic day but certainly the best!
