cousins

This morning we were excited to have heavy snow showers and the promise that it would 'stick'. 
Oscar's mum came to join us and took us on a drive through the dales where the snow lay across the hills and valleys and looked so lovely. I did take lots of pictures but wanted to use this one of the boys walking along together. We stopped for coffee and then went for a nice walk along this cycle track where the railway used to be. 
Then a bit more of a tour of the area, Bakewell where the tart comes from, and Buxton, where the water comes from, and a glimpse of Chatsworth, then back to Matlock for a nice pub lunch. 
Then Oscar's stepfather, who seems a really lovely man, his stepsister and his baby brother all joined us and we went for a stroll along the Derwent and stopped for a while at a playpark . 
A truly lovely day, and really great to re-connect.
